New structural design
Spectrum engineers have vast experience using innovative building technologies and a complete understanding of structural analyses. Our engineers continually develop their knowledge and skills over a range of analysis methods covering linear to non-linear, static and dynamic. The structural system for each project will include the design of ductile structures or modern, low-damage, seismic resilient structures, according to the objectives of each project and developer.

Seismic assessment
We understand the importance of seismic assessments and their effect on building owners. Spectrum engineers have assessed many buildings throughout Wellington and surrounding areas covering both the Initial Seismic Assessment (ISA) and Detailed Seismic Assessment (DSA) procedures for one-storey to multi-storey buildings. Our engineers have also worked on the Wellington City Council Targeted Damage Evaluation procedure following the Kaikoura Earthquake in 2016.

Seismic strengthening
Spectrum engineers design viable engineering solutions to restore buildings to an acceptable %NBS (Percentage of the New Building Standards) using sound engineering experience and judgement. We pride ourselves on staying connected with our projects until construction is completed to ensure  design principles have been correctly implemented onsite.

Value engineering
Spectrum engineers have undertaken many value engineering projects to assess the feasibility of solutions proposed and ensure design objectives are achieved with either by reducing the construction cost and/or maximising the return for the building owner.
